July 15, 2005Hardening SBS 2003 SlidedeckAs promised, for those people that attended my presentation at Microsoft Canada yesterday, you can download my slidedeck here. For those that were not there, you can grab it too. Unfortunately, some of the slides won't make much sense as you didn't hear the witty commentation that went along with it. Feel free to comment if you have any questions on the content. Thanks again to Microsoft and the Vancouver SBS UG for inviting me to come. It was fun, and the pizza was good (even if we did have the gray screen of death on the custom Microsoft software driving the projector)! Hi Dana, I wanted to make this presentation but I couldn't this time but thanks for the slides. I will definitely have to catch you next time you present in Vancouver. Posted by: Peter Stathakos at July 15, 2005 03:03 PMhi Dana, Really great professional slide deck. Could you please provide more information on the screen grabs of the "SBS Security Hardening Kit"? Is there a link to the kit? Thanks Posted by: Christian at July 16, 2005 05:29 AMHey Christian, The SBS Security Hardening Kit is a piece of software that I wrote that assists administrators in managing and deploying hardening on Small Business Server 2003 in accordance with NSA Guidelines and Microsoft Security Best Practices. It is designed with the fact in mind that SBS is more than a Srv03 core acting in the DC role, its also a Web server, Exchange server and a database server.... merging hardening policies to find a good match for SBS. Currently I do not have a public link to the product. It's in a private beta. However, if you attend SMB Nation there is a chance you will be able to get a free copy for yourself. Posted by: SilverStr at July 16, 2005 12:41 PMVery nice and professional presentation. And, your software looks very well, also. Congrats! |
