New security features improved in ASP.NET 2.0

MSDN has released an article discussing the improved security features in ASP.NET 2.0. Topics covered include:

  • Security enhancements in ASP.NET 2.0
  • Server-side security controls
  • User and role databases
  • Cookieless forms authentication

I have found myself lately having to audit some ASP style systems, and this article shows me that there may be hope yet for the technology. (I am not a fan at how mediocre programmers can expose so many vulnerabilities on an online system because of the sheer complexity of the framework that they don't understand)

The article says the information is subject to change as its a preview, but you can get a good understanding of whats around the corner.

Happy reading.
