March 26, 2004Arcterex... you rock!There is a saying out there that goes something like "a friend won't tell when you kill someone... but a really good friend would help you bury the body". I just wanted to thank Alan for helping me 'bury a body' so to speak tonight. In less than an hour, at 11:30 at night I drove out to his place to completely swap out a motherboard, rebuild a kernel and get one of my servers back up and running for an install at the ISP tomorrow. The result? A faster machine I am actually comfortable with taking to the ISP. No video problems. Lots of ram that is properly being recognized. Hard drives running at peak effectiveness. And the kicker... a BIOS that properly handles power management. (Don't ask.. its a LONG story) Anyways... thanks Alan. You rock! Posted by SilverStr at March 26, 2004 01:32 AM | TrackBackComments
