January 12, 2004New Comment Spam DefenceThis morning I found myself checking my SpamAssassin logs, and finding that I was just hit with another round of comment spam... 97 entries in less than 10 minutes... all of which were from the ip 207.29.194.4. I get about 4 or 5 daily, and I just manually delete them, but 97 entries were too much for me... I needed a better solution. While talking to Alan he suggested I check out MT-Blacklist. WHAT A FIND!!! In less than 5 minutes I had this MoveableType plug installed, and 53 seconds later it removed every comment spam from the IP, and set up a new defensive perimeter around my comments.
