August 28, 2003Microsoft's Really Hidden FilesLockergnome pointed to an older, but still interesting, article about hidden files in Windows. Microsoft Internet Explorer has not been clearing your browsing history after you have instructed it to do so, and Microsoft's Outlook Express has not been deleting your e-mail correspondence after you've erased them from your Deleted Items bin. How can you tell? They are in hidden folders that Microsoft doesn't want you to know about. Check out this article to find out if this is the case for you! Kinda happy I use Firebird. Spybot S&D, will clear out your "usage tracks" for IE and OE along with many other programs on your system at the same time it checks for and removes spyware. You have to turn on the usage tracks option specificaly in the settings and it still gives you the option of choosing which items to clear. It makes the process really simple and is one that I have used for a while now. |
